Content Marketing Intern

About Us

Carv is creating a new category of sports technology. We are redefining the way skill-based sports are taught with cutting-edge hardware, real-time audio instruction, AI-driven data analytics, and content curated by the best instructors in their industries.

Our first product focuses on skiing and was launched in 2016 with a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. Carv’s smart inserts retrofit to any ski boot to measure your pressure and motion as you ski. Data is then processed by your smartphone to deliver a breakdown of your technique in our app and turn-by-turn coaching through your headphones.

We launched our organic marketing channels and strategy in 2019, and have created one of the fastest-growing content companies in the ski industry - with over 85k email subscribers and 180k annual readers of our blog.

The Role

We are looking for an intern with writing experience to help us to accelerate and elevate our content across our marketing emails and blog.

Every season, Carv grows exponentially. We currently have an email subscriber base of 85k, but we expect to at least double that by the end of next season. We’re looking for an intern with awesome ideas to help us get there!

You’ll learn to build and optimise email flows ahead of the winter season to improve customer engagement and membership retention, helping to nurture our subscriber base and write great skiing content for our members.

With the Carv blog, you’ll work on articles with Carv Ambassadors - top-level ski coaches from around the world - to develop awesome instructional content and drive our organic growth strategy.

At Carv, you will:

  • Think strategically - working with our Brand Manager to execute an organic growth strategy, increasing reach, engagement and conversions from both channels.
  • Get creative - brainstorming new content ideas and executing on their copy and design.
  • Help to grow our mailing list and engage our subscribers with empowering ski instruction content and skiing insights.
    • Work with the Brand Manager to build and optimise email flows to improve subscriber engagement and member retention rates for the coming winter season.

    • Devise, test, and implement email subscriber lead generation strategies.

  • Grow our organic blog traffic by writing new articles led by SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) research, and updating and optimising existing content.
    • Work with our SEO contractor and Carv Ambassadors to write, edit, and design imagery for new articles to help our skiers to improve their technique, and reach new audiences from Google search.
    • Improve existing articles for SEO and conversion optimisation, updating the structure, copy, and imagery to reflect new app and membership features.

  • An eye for detail - whether that’s the spelling and grammar of copy, or consistency of design.

  • Confidence and aptitude to quickly grasp our design and web software.

  • Willingness to learn elements of visual design.

  • You thrive in a fast-moving and evolving work environment - Carv is a start-up after all!

The nice-to-haves:
