Social Media Intern

About Us

Carv is creating a new category of sports technology. We are redefining the way skill-based sports are taught with cutting-edge hardware, real-time audio instruction, AI-driven data analytics, and content curated by the best instructors in their industries.

Our first product focuses on skiing and was launched in 2016 with a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. Carv’s smart inserts retrofit to any ski boot to measure your pressure and motion as you ski. Data is then processed by your smartphone to deliver a breakdown of your technique in our app and turn-by-turn coaching through your headphones.

We launched our organic marketing channels and strategy in 2019, and have created one of the fastest-growing content companies in the ski industry - with over 45k followers on Instagram, and an engaged Facebook community of over 5,000.

The Role

We are looking for a social media intern to join our skiing-obsessed team, and help level up our socials.

Every season, Carv grows exponentially. Our current Instagram following is 45K, but by the end of next season, we expect to be over 100K. We’re looking for an intern with awesome ideas to help us get there!

You will be supporting the end-to-end management of our socials - from coming up with awesome content ideas, to executing their design, scheduling, and post-campaign engagement. You’ll be able to shape our strategies across brand awareness, perception, and membership satisfaction.

At Carv, you will:

  • Get creative - brainstorming exciting new content ideas, and executing on their design.

  • Write engaging copy to accompany your awesome visuals.

  • Be responsible for content scheduling and publishing - primarily across Instagram, but also TikTok and LinkedIn.

  • Connect with our members, and be responsible for engaging with them across social channels.

  • Support the Community Manager in nurturing a successful members community, through our Facebook group and events - both on snow and online.

Role Requirements

The necessities:

  • Passionate about skiing, and an understanding of ski culture.

  • And equally, love social media! You enjoy staying up to date with trends, algorithm updates, and new moves we could be making.

  • Creative copywriting skills - you can tell a good story in Carv’s tone of voice.

  • An eye for detail - whether that’s the spelling and grammar of copy, or consistency of design.

  • Have some experience in managing socials - maybe for a university society or even a personal blog.

  • Are driven - you’d be eager to take on the social channels yourself, and push them to the next level.

  • A people person, who’d enjoy interacting with our Members and understanding their needs.

  • Able to turn things around fast, with little oversight - the classic startup mentality!

Awesome extras (nice to have but not necessary):

  • Familiarity with scheduling and analysis platforms, such as Sprout Social.

  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop / Canva / Figma / other design tools.

  • Understanding of skiing technique.

Benefits

  • Lots of opportunities for skiing throughout the season, including 3 months in Austria with accommodation provided.

  • Opportunity to upskill very quickly, and take on responsibilities that will look awesome on your CV. We’re a small team growing fast, and we’d love for you to take over the socials and run with them.

  • Gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing tech start-up. At Carv, you’ll be part of the digital revolution in skiing - we’re shaking up the industry, and it's pretty exciting!

  • Young & adventurous team - lots of socials, after-work drinks, trips, and obviously skiing!

Remuneration

  • UK National Living Wage

  • Accommodation in Innsbruck for 3 months throughout the season, to get your fill of skiing - with a lift pass thrown in for all local resorts!

  • Potential to travel to other resorts for content creation.
