Machine Learning Engineer
About us
We are creating a new category of sports technology by redefining the way skill-based sports are taught with cutting-edge hardware, real-time audio instruction, AI-driven data analytics and content curated by the best instructors in their industries.
Our first product, Carv, focuses on skiing and was launched in 2016. We are venture-backed and growing at a rapid pace, recording over 170 million skiing turns, doubling our user-base and selling out for 4 years in a row. We now deliver more hours of ski coaching than any other ski school every year.
Carv’s smart inserts retrofit to any ski boot to measure pressure and motion. The data is then processed by your phone to deliver turn-by-turn coaching through your headphones and a breakdown of your technique in our app.
About the role
Over the past three ski seasons, we’ve collected terabytes of skiing data covering tens of millions of skiing turns and user instructions. We are looking for a passionate Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing data science team so we can help everyone ski better.

You will work closely within our tight-knit team of data scientists. We’re a passionate group who love skiing and thinking up new ways to apply technology to sports coaching.
The successful candidate will have a passion for all things machine learning, as well as sports and making an impact on the business.
In the role, you will be:
Researching and applying the most promising models to help Carv improve the core aspects of its coaching product.
Working quickly and efficiently from initial research and experimentation through to deploying and monitoring models.
Hands on encoding time series data with novel machine learning algorithms such as RNNs, CNNs and attention-based methods.
