Fits in over 35,000 boots

When we built Carv, we knew it was crucial that the insert doesn’t affect the fit of your boots. It’s why we offer a 100 day boot fit guarantee.

Our 35,000 skiers have Carv installed in a vast array of boots from a range of manufacturers.

3 sizes for the perfect fit

Carv comes in 3 sizes so that it can accurately measure your motion and pressure as you ski, whatever your boot size.

Carv is available in D, E, and F sizes, and all 3 come equipped with 72 pressure and motion sensors.

Common Questions about
the Carv device

  • Will it fit in custom boots?

Yes, absolutely. Most of our customers have customised boots and insoles. Carv fits between the liner and the boot board (the plastic base) - so the modifications you’ve got won’t be affected. It may take up a few mm of volume, but your liners will likely pack out a touch and balance this out.

  • Does it work with custom insoles?

Yes. Carv goes under the liner - on top of the boot board. This means that heel lifts, custom insoles (e.g. Surefoot), and boot warmers are not affected and are compatible with Carv. You can use them both at the same time.

  • Will Carv cause boot discomfort?

99% of our customers are happy with their Carv fit- even pros like Ted Ligety ski with Carv without boot mods. Because it fits under the liner, there is padding to accommodate the 3mm volume. If you do have a pinch, a boot fitter can rectify issues. If not, you are protected by our boot fit guarantee.

What can
Carv measure?

Every turn, Carv compares your motion and pressure data with our database of 350 million turns to give you scores for 13 performance metrics.

When you stop, you’ll get an overall performance score - your Ski:IQ™ - calculated by our algorithm tuned on the data of the best skiers in the world.

How it works

Designed with data
from millions of turns

From the very start, we knew that we had to make Carv unnoticeable in your ski boot.

As we’ve grown, we’ve captured 350 million ski turns from over 200 types of ski boot, all recording exactly where skiers are putting their weight in their boot.

Over the years we’ve been able to refine the way we route the wires, where we place the chips, and how we attach the cable, so Carv stays out of the way, but still robust enough to take a hard day of skiing.

How we built carv

Built to survive the snow

Carv’s battery pack sits on the strap of your boot with a specially designed clip and a robust case designed to be snow-proof, waterproof, and survive hits against the hill.

We designed a battery optimised to handle the cold, giving you over 3 days of skiing per charge. That’s more than anyone’s quads can handle.
