Carv helps intermediates with:

For intermediate skiers, balance is key. It might not seem obvious, but getting your balance right is crucial for improving all parts of your skiing. Balance isn't just leaning forward; it's about moving forward at the turn's start and staying centered over your skis.

Carv measures how centered you are during the middle of a turn. If you lean too far forward, your skis will slide out from behind you. If you lean too far back, turning becomes hard. Keeping balanced in the middle helps you control your skis better.

Carv measures how parallel your skis remain during a turn. When they are parallel, you maintain better control over speed and turn direction. Even when carving, having parallel skis allows you utilise the ski design into an arc shape, which propels you through the turn. When you initiate a turn, try to progressively load your skis rather than rushing in.

Its slim 3mm insert is compatible with all types of boots, including those with custom fits or insoles, guaranteeing precise analysis without compromising the boot's comfort, fit, or performance.

Yorke’s Carv guide for intermediates
Ski:IQ 95

Hi, I'm Yorke

I'm a member of the Carv Customer Success team. I have a current Ski:IQ of around 115 after training with Carv.
I'll share the methods that helped me jump from a score of 95 to 115.

Yorke's recommended features

In ‘Free Ski Mode’, Carv gives tips on every chairlift. I know that may sound like a lot, but it’s really helped me with pinpointing the practical steps fro improvement.
I love that the tips are adapted to my level, so I’m not hearing tips that are impossible to achieve.

The importance of balance in skiing was always clear to me, but I've found applying it to my technique challenging.
The Balance Training Mode gives feedback on every turn, which really helped me to recognize the 'right' feeling and achieve a better stance.
