Transform your style with Carv
96% of advanced skiers on Carv told us they improved
Level: Advanced
Based on your responses, you are an advanced skier with an estimated Ski:IQ between 115-140.
As an advanced skier, Carv will transform the fundamentals of your turn so you can ski more efficiently, with dynamic balance, more control, and a more rounded turn shape.
How Carv Helps Advanced Skiers
As an advanced skier, you are probably getting some edge engagement, but struggling to maintain control on trickier runs. Key areas for you to concentrate on include applying pressure on the outside ski and refining your turn shape.
Carv measures how much pressure you're applying to your outside ski. Applying enough pressure to the outside ski will give you more control in short turns, high-speed carving, and variable conditions. This ability to adjust body movements for better pressure management is key to advancing overall ski technique.
Carv measures how constantly your skis rotate during the turn. A rounded turn shape helps you control your speed and tire less than when executing Z-shaped turns. A common mistake among skiers is rotating skis across the fall line too early, rushing into the next turn.
How Carv works
Meet your new ski coach
Its slim 3mm insert is compatible with all types of boots, including those with custom fits or insoles, guaranteeing precise analysis without compromising the boot's comfort, fit, or performance.
Carv uses 72 sensors to accurately monitor foot movements, recording data 20 times a second for detailed ski technique assessment.
Carv immediately processes the data from each of your turns, translating it into 12 performance metrics that make up the hallmarks of ski technique. These scores are then compiled to calculate your overall Ski:IQ score.

“I have skied since I was a kid and was an advanced/expert skier. In just a few days of skiing with Carv it improved my technique drastically. Plus, I now have a much better understanding of what proper skiing technique should be.”

How I use Carv as an advanced skier

Hi, I'm Liv
I work in the marketing team. I generally score between 130-140ish, but I really want to push my skiing to be better in harder terrain.
I'm going to take you through some of my favorite Carv modes, and how I'm using the device to ski better this winter.
Liv's recommended feature
Monitor Modes
Understanding exactly when I'm going wrong in my skiing has always been a challenge for me.
Monitor modes are great for this - they objectively tell me how well I'm performing in real-time. It gives me a score for each turn, so I can figure out the 'right' and 'wrong' feelings.Carv is great at motivating me to improve. I ski in the 'Train with an Olympian' mode a lot for this reason - you get advice from Ted Ligety as you ski and get audio feedback on each turn.
Unlocking the levels by acting on the feedback is super motivating - it has resulted in visible improvement in my carving.
Carv is made up of a season pass, and a device.
Your membership will give you access to our latest app analytics, as well as new on-snow and off-snow training content every season.
After signing up you’ll receive an email with a pass code. Simply enter this in the app to add your pass to your account. The pass will then activate when you first ski with Carv.
If you're not happy with Carv you can simply return it to us and we will refund both the membership and device cost.
*If you purchased in Retail your pass should activate when pairing your sensors to the app for the very first time. This can be done in the 'More' section of the app, at the bottom left of your screen. If your pass does not automatically apply, please contact us and share the serial number listed on your outer packaging. One of the team will be able to quickly sort this for you.
Yes, Carv is the same thickness as a boot warmer at 3mm. It will fit in almost all ski boots including stock boots, custom moulded boots and boots with custom insoles. We offer a boot-fit guarantee so you can find the perfect match with Carv.
Carv will automatically detect the difficulty and snow type that your skiing on - taking into account steepness and terrain variability (bumps, crud, powder). Carv will adapt your score based on the terrain so you're always rewarded for keeping your form when things get dicey.
Carv's coaching is focussed on developing an efficient, dynamic and stylish technique. It will push you to make more stable, rounded and exciting turns. While Carv is not designed to coach you in off piste (yet), the improvements it will make in your fundamental technique will certainly iron out issues so when you do get the perfect pow conditions of the season - you are focussed on your line not your technique.
